"ArchLabs Linux is an Arch Linux based distribution, influenced and inspired by the look and feel of BunsenLabs with the intermediate to advanced user in mind. For all its advantages, Arch remains one of the most cumbersome distros to configure and install. However, the message on the webpage gives viewers an impression that AL is an Openbox only distro. One installer, we support almost all popular DEs/WMs. In addition, maybe we should change AL’s public image a littl bit. AL deserves a much better position than we currently are. On distrowatch, Manjaro is ranked #2, EOS is ranked #7 and climbing. AL in my option is good enough (both system itself & its installer) to compete with any Arch based distros out there. It is based on Arch, so it supports all of the latest software. It is best for general purposes and for learning Linux administration. So, a live system which allows them to taste Linux and to see how their hardware is supported in a distro is essential for them. It is best for general purposes and suitable for running Window applications by proton and Wine. They have no idea how Linux works on their hardware. More and more users are switching to Linux these days. It would help not only on Reddit, but also on. The Manjaro team does a lot of good work and if I knew somebody who was tired of the Ubuntu/Mint/Debian style distro I'd probably point them to Manjaro to get them used to something like Arch.I don’t use Reddit & probably won’t in the near future.Īs for getting more traffic, I think getting a live image may help. Good thing about Manjaro is the community. Its a customized arch based distro with controlled package release cycle. I did dabble with it a bit a while back but I just simply prefer pure Arch. Though Manjaro and arch can be considered same, it is not 100 true. I don't think you'd be disappointed if you moved to Manjaro. The Arch Linux group on Matrix I find to be quite pleasant. The Solus community on the other hand (at least when I was part of it) was very helpful compared to what you would find on the Arch forums. I would imagine the Manjaro forums are pretty friendly since they're not using pure Arch. In terms of community the Arch forums can be a cesspool of elitist pricks but yet the Arch Wiki is the gold standard for Linux help. However, there were things lacking in their repos compared to Arch and it's derivatives. I used to use Solus and it was my daily driver for a long time a few years back before Ikey left. Arch repos are generally far better than Solus as well. The AUR is a big pro for Arch or any Arch based distro like Manjaro.
